Greetings from Indiana – we hope the celebrations go well. I (Bryan) have good memories of church, friends, and those great camping trips from more than 30 years ago. Peace be with all of you.
Looking forward to seeing old friends. Our days of MBY sponsors with Charlie and Verna Neufeld are precious. Our kids, Ron and Linda remember the church camping trips and Pastor Ernie Friesen playing volleyball with them.
I wouldn’t miss this. Fond memories of the Bowling Alley. I wrote a term paper on the first years of the KMBC while at Immanuel. Will have to dig it out.
I remember meeting in the old VFW hall and adjacent Bowling Alley. I remember asking my dad, Clarence Hofer if we could go bowling instead of Wednesday Night Classes. You could hear the lanes rumbling with bowling balls as we tried to memorize scripture. I also remember building the MB church on it’s current ground. My dad and I went out to see the progress every week. I remember sitting in the folding chairs in the sanctuary. One Sunday I was wriggling around in the folding chair and while my dad was preaching the chair folded up with me in it. People around me were concerned with my well being but I was concerned about getting my rear end pounded when I got home. It disrupted the whole service.
We would love to be able to attend the celebration, but we’ll be in San Antonio for a music convention that weekend. I have many great memories of a loving and supportive church family during my teen and young adult years! An active youth group gave me opportunity to grow in my spiritual life as well as my musical life. May you continue to be that same support to many others, far into the future!
Psalms 78:5-6 says, “He decreed statures for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.”
This is what we hope will happen, in part at least, as we meet together for our 50th anniversary celebration here at KMBC. So, come and join us! We know that our past history will be more complete if you come and share this time with us! We look forward to seeing all of you.

We plan to come for the Saturday Celebration on February 11, 2012. Thank you for inviting us.

This is inspiring me to look for the old material I have from our days at the bowling alley.
